I know this is a bit of a long stretch to be putting this is in the "Cast and Crew's Other Movies", but Christopher Lee has a small part in CatCF, so I hoped it wouldn't be too out-of-place.
I've been a fan of the book(s) for a long time, and of the original movie (simply because...it was the only movie about CatCF). I am a huge fan of Tim Burton, so I think he will do a good job with this. It's supposed to be darker than the original film version (which isn't bad, I like dark movies), and yet keep up the whimsical feel. I hope he stays true to the book(s)....
And I will follow through about putting this topic in this category by saying that Christopher Lee will be playing the part of Willy Wonka's father (who never appeared in the book). He's a dentist, which adds to the humour, though he himself isn't very funny, by the sound of it. I always thought it was intriguing how you never knew much about Willy's background, so I'm slightly disappointed, but...it's Christopher Lee, so I won't complain. ;D

I've seen commercials for this latly, and man is Johnny Depp CREEEEPPPYYY!!!!1 I don't know if I'm going to be able to watch it, lol.
Man I think Johnny Depp could play almost anyone, he's such a good actor. He's played Captian Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissor Hands, and now Willy Wonka! I think this movie will be good, I didn't really like the last one all that much, I havn't seen it for a couple years, but I didn't like the sing umpalumpas, that's my opinion though. I 've never read the book, I should though, I think I got it from the library a long time ago but never read it.

Yea, Johnny Depp looks scary in this one.
He's also played a...detective, of sorts, in "Sleepy Hollow" (not the animated version) and "From Hell". I haven't watched From Hell, but I have seen Sleepy Hollow (and Christopher Lee has a small part in that too!).

I saw him on Jay Leno last night and they showed a clip, it's so wierd that the guy in the clip is Johnny Depp.

Haha... I was wondering how you made the conection to "cast and crew's other movies" but you did better than I exspected... honestly the first thing that came to mind was "ok, so Orlando and Jonny Depp played in PotC..."
Anyway, yeah, I really can't imagine the same guy who played Jack Sparrow playing Willy Wonka.... so he must be an amazing actor. (not that I doubted it... just that this is proof)

FrodoFreak87's Review:
I saw it today and I thought it was great! If I were a real movie critic I would probably give it 3 stars! I thought this movie was awsome! Johnny Depp, as always, was fantastic in this film. when I first heard that he was going to be in a remake of Willy Wonka I thought it was going to be awful, but I was wrong. It's a fun, colorful, enjoyable movie, and also very funny! The Umpa lumpas are still kinda annoying with their songs, but at least they weren't orange!
I highly sugest seeing this movie in the theater, but I'm sure it would be ok on video too!
also one of the previews before the movie was for another Johnny Depp/Tim Berton/Christopher Lee movie called the Corpse Bride, which seems kind of odd, it's animated.
anyway that's what I thought of the movie. ;D

I really enjoyed Christopher Lee's parts. I always enjoy listening to him talking, and I love his diction. I love when he calls lollys "cavities on a stick". That was quite clever. Johnny Depp lived up to all the expectations I had. He was quirky, humorous, serious, and yet he had a childish innocence that balanced everything out. I enjoyed his "out of place" lines, such as the bit about "star shine" in the beginning. Freddy Highmore was brilliant as Charlie, I'm quite glad that Johnny vouched for him. I'm glad they had him respect and love his family, so many films these days deny the children that right. David Kelly was great as Grandpa Joe, he had me smiling a lot.
And I thought everyone else did a great job too. I'd give this 3 and 1/2 stars.
I'm really interested to see The Corpse Bride. Tim Burton's my favorite director.
